FALL 2026 · A NEW CHAPTER
We have purchased the property next door in Milton
We are beginning an exciting new chapter for Uniquely Hostas with the purchase of our new property in Milton, Wisconsin. Located directly next door to our current Milton location, the new property will allow us to bring our hosta collection home from Elroy and keep our growing inventory together in one location.
This move will make accessing our extensive collection easier while opening the door to new possibilities, including beautiful display gardens, expanded landscape beds, garden tours, and classes. We look forward to creating a place where hosta enthusiasts can not only shop our collection, but also explore, learn, and be inspired.

The Elroy garden will be open for the 2027 season — dates will be posted here once they are set. After that it closes, and everything moves to Milton.

ABOUT US
Grown here, dug fresh, shipped by hand
We’re a family owned and operated small business, with gardens in Milton, Wisconsin. It started with Justin — a high schooler when he met Jeff Miller in 2009, who learned the ins and outs of hostas and how to make his own crosses. He got his father Bob into crossing too, and it became a family affair. Together they turned three acres of woods into two acres of hosta beds.
We began as Geske’s Gardens in 2020, offloading old seedlings to make room for new crosses. In 2021 longtime friends Marlene and Jonathan asked us to take over Uniquely Hostas, which brought with it the collections of Jim’s Hostas, Owen Purvis and Kenny Z. A year later we added plants from Jeff Moore and the Carlsons. Bob and Justin are still finding joy in how hosta genetics work — and how odd they can be.

You order
Orders ship in the order they’re received. Our season runs from the end of May through September, and orders placed between September and July are usually out by early to mid-August.

We dig
Nothing is dug until it emerges in spring. Roots are rinsed clean, dipped in an anti-fungal solution, wrapped and tagged, and the foliage is rolled in paper for the journey.
03
It ships
Sent bare root via USPS or UPS in sturdy boxes. Tell us your vacation dates and we’ll work around them. If something looks off in the first five days, call us — nine times out of ten the plant is just thirsty.
